DENVER, Colo. - The Metro State women's basketball team hosted a high school girls basketball team camp from June 28-30 at the Auraria Event Center on the campus of Metro State. Ralston Valley defeated Holy Family in the championship game on Tuesday at the 11-team tournament. Qdoba and Jason's Deli served as the sponsors of the event.
This summer was the first time the Roadrunners have hosted a team camp in at least five years. However, head coach Linda Lappe said this will become an annual event every June. Each team was guaranteed seven games in addition to two time and situation contests at the team camp.
"We're very excited to get camps started again for kids around the Denver area," Lappe said. "We couldn't have asked for a better first year of the camp and we hope to continue to grow and get more people on our campus in the future."
